Join OEFFA's (Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association) MOON Chapter and enjoy a full afternoon of music by Judy and Warren Waldron and Friends; childrens' activities; farm animals from Double J Farm; bees from the Butler County Bee Club; information booths featuring organizations supporting local farming and healthy food; vendors from the Oxford Farmers' Market Uptown; and lunch, snacks, and cider for sale.
At 2 and 3 p.m., there will be a cooking demonstration by Steve Townsend from the MOON Co-Op Market.
On the stage, there will be informational talks. At 1:30, Alfredo Huerta will speak about Save Seeds Now!, a local nonprofit dedicated to helping farmers develop their own varieties of crop plants and save their own seeds. At 2:30 p.m., Jim Rubenstein and Harv Roehling will speak about "The Local and Organic Difference," and at 3:30 p.m., Alex Zomchek will speak about "Honey Bees: The Best of Times, the Worst of Times," which explains why honeybee pollination is critical to quality, affordable fruits and vegetables.
